Badu’s top hat was accentuated by Rapunzel-like microbraids in 2007. She had worn the hairstyle since she was a child, she embraced them as a means of getting back to her roots in a sense. “I felt individual, free, and beautiful and I wore ‘em down to my ankles.”
The front of the hoodie reads “E. Badu AKA SHE ILL.” The SHE ILL phase of her career was captured by artist Jackie Musial and is printed on the hoodie's back.
The sleeves have ribbed cuffs, drawstrings, and a roomy front pocket.
